Day 1: Arusha- Serengeti National Park

After you've had breakfast, you'll head to Serengeti National Park. Depending on the time of year, you might get a chance to see a bunch of wildebeests, zebras, and Thompson gazelles on their big move. In October and November, during a little rainy season, they usually go from Kenya's Masai Mara through the northwest part of Serengeti to the south plains.

After the big rainy season in April, May, and June, they slowly make their way back through the west and northwest of Serengeti. But remember, the schedule can change with how much it rains.

Your guide will do their best to find these animals and make sure you see them from the best spot in the park. Of course, where there are herds, there are also predators, so if you're lucky, you might witness a hunt.

Accommodation:  Nyikani Camp Central Serengeti

Day 2: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

On this day we suggest a very early wake up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness.
After the game drive, we will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch and then we'll proceed to Ngorongoro, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. The crater spreads for 102 sq miles and has 2,000 ft high walls, making it virtually Noah's ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It's one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black rhino. The concentration of African wildlife is the greatest on the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It's also famous for its elephants which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.

Accommodation:  Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater and transfer Back

We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake.

After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 5 pm although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation.

End of tour

  • Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost.
  • You'll be dropped off at the airport.

Key information

What will I see on this 3 Day itinerary?

You will experience two distinct ecosystems. The Serengeti National Park offers vast savannahs and the chance to spot large predator populations (lions, cheetahs, leopards).

The Ngorongoro Crater is a massive, enclosed volcanic caldera with an extremely high density of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Africa to spot the rare black rhino

When is the best time to go?

December to March:
Best for the calving season in the southern Serengeti.

June to October:
Excellent for general wildlife viewing, as animals are forced to gather near water sources.

What is the driving time between locations?

Driving from Arusha to the Serengeti gate takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, and reaching the central Seronera area takes another 1 to 2 hours of game viewing. Traveling from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area takes roughly 2 to 3 hours.

On the final day, ascending the crater and driving back to Arusha takes about 3.5 hours.

$ 1,385 per adult
