Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi

Today, you will be welcomed at the airport by one of the company representatives who will then transfer you to your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda.

Depending on your arrival time, if its early you will have a city tour around by visiting the Genocide Museum and the Caplaki Crafts Center, then continue to Bwindi.

Relax in the evening and get ready for the following day’s gorilla trekking.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Haven Lodge or similar

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the briefing point in the forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to get to be enlightened about your adventure with the mountain gorillas.

You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box.

After the briefing, you are distributed into groups of eight and led by a park ranger into the forest where you will spend one hour with the gentle giants. Rain gear is important considering that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest.

You will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi where you will take a swim in Uganda’s most beautiful lake or take a canoe to enjoy nature and explore the surrounding communities.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali Airport

Today, depending on the time for your flight, you can venture into some optional activities either in Bwindi or in Kigali, then later transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a Home to over half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Interacting with these gentle giants is one of the most moving experiences that Africa has to offer and should not be missed!

The ancient rainforest of Bwindi spans 321 sq km and boasts 90 mammal species, a range of primates, as well as 23 Albertine Rift endemic bird species, including the African Green Broadbill, the Bar Tailed Trogon and many others.
